My husband is a member of a club of professional men in their 20's and 30's that do volunteer work and raise money for children in our community. Every August they hold a Charity Gala with a silent and live auction, dinner, dancing, and room full of every dessert you could ever imagine. The dessert room is my favorite part of the night every.single.year.

These are the only two pictures I have from this year:

So in this post I told you all about how I was going to a fabulous gala and showed these earrings, which I'd purchased to wear to said gala. I thought I talked about the dress I'd purchased from, but I was wrong, I haven't addressed it yet. This happened to be the same weekend I got the big girl camera. In this post, I mentioned how we did a full shoot, in the evening dress, with the new camera, but didn't get any pictures. My photographer/husband ;) might have done a rush job and it was probably about 105 degrees at that point. The moral of the story is....I only have two pics of the evening dress and neither came from our little photo shoot.

A couple of things about this dress. I am 5'4, wore this with flats, and the length was perfect. Hit the floor exactly where it should've. Also, this is a no bra dress. I thought I could somehow hide one under there - no. This is not for my large chested sistas out there, sorry. Everything else about it was amazing. I loved how flowy it was and just the way it hung from my body. The color was gorgeous. It was definitely more casual than I expected when it arrived and because of the length I couldn't really dress it up with heels. It worked out and I think it looks pretty formal in the pictures. I considered wearing my hair up and using a metallic gold belt around my waist. I looked for a gold belt a little bit, but ruled out the idea after assessing the bra sitch ;) No bra + belt = not a good look.

Here are a few of our pictures from previous years gala ~ 2014, 2013, 2012.
