BLACK PLAID

Plaid Top // Black Denim // Booties // Crossbody Bag // Necklace // Sunglasses // Ring // Lips (in color 17, Encore Rose)

I gravitate toward black clothing and although there are so many great colored plaids out there, (like in this post) I couldn't pass up this black plaid. This top is really long so it can be worn with leggings, and it comes in 8 different color options. If there is one trend you should go for this fall, it's plaid because it's such a classic print that you can wear it year after year without going out of style.

These black skinnies are another piece of black out of my closet where I'm definitely getting my money's worth. They are a really soft denim and super comfy, although I think they're getting a little snug already ;)

BUFFALO CHECK

I am sort of obsessed with buffalo check and plaids right now. I wore this on Saturday to cheer on my husband's favorite college football team ~ they lost at the last second and it was a heartbreaker. Plaids and my distressed boyfriends are my uniform right now. The more ripped these jeans get the more I love them. I linked this plaid top and several others I've got my eye on in the widget. If you scroll through the widget, there are more plaid tops linked.
I am obsessed with this Nars lip pencil in "Cruella." I received two of these babies as a b-day gift from Sephora and I love the way they go on and feel when they're on. It's not heavy and it's a stain so it stays pretty well. Sephora is my favorite place to shop for products because of their rewards program. I am about to reach "Rouge status" this year through their rewards club and I couldn't be more happy about it. If you're not already, you should become a beauty insider. I am going to do a post about products and Sephora soon.

Navy + Maroon

TOP, old - goodnight macaroon // FLARES // CROSSBODY BAG
How gorgeous is the tree in my front yard? I hadn't even noticed how pretty it looked until one of my friends text me the other day saying how gorgeous it was. I know how cliché it sounds, but this is one of my very favorite times of the year. My top favorite is Christmas season, but fall is a close second.

I purchased the sweater I'm wearing last winter from Goodnight Macaroon, but never wore it. ALWAYS SIZE UP AT GM FOLKS. I've linked these jeans and the rest of my details several times before so today I used my "widget space" (wtf?) to link similar sweaters I'm in love with. I've filled up my Nordstrom online shopping cart with sweaters upon sweaters but can't narrow it down or can't seem to pull the trigger. Help me. I'm such a grandma, but sweaters are what I'm excited for right now. I'm not even trying to fight it.

COGNAC TAKEOVER

TOP // OTK BOOTS, old - SIMILAR HERE AND HERE // JEANS, old - SIMILAR HERE AND HERE // TOTE // SUNGLASSES // NECKLACE // EARRINGS

I am obsessed with this cognac color right now and luckily the only pair of OTK's I own are cognac and match the tote I've been carrying everywhere lately. I did a post a here on all the 70's inspired pieces I've seen and today I came across these boots that are so disco - I don't like the platform though, just thought they were interesting. If/when I get another pair of OTK's this season I want a gray pair, specifically these. They are so so gorgeous and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on them soon.

Okay, so lets talk about this shirt really quick. I purchased it from Goodnight Macaroon and for some reason (what was I thinking) I ordered a small. Normally I am a small, but apparently I forgot I was ordering from GM, which I feel runs small sometimes. I actually ordered the matching skirt too, but it was way too short. Cute, but certainly not the look I was going for. I have a really long torso and short legs, so I need to remember to size up so shirts cover my belly ;) This sweater is probably a little more up my alley, although I do love the button detail on the back of the one I'm wearing.

DEEP THOUGHTS ON OMBRE HAIR

Just kidding, no deep thoughts here ;) So this is something a little different for my blogitty that I don't usually do, but I can't decide what to do w/ my hair and need some help. These are some screenshots from my phone ~ sorry for not linking the pics!! I just googled ombre hair and looked for really blonde and light ombre looks. Although I have sort of a natural ombre going on right now,  (on accident) I'm thinking about going in and having my stylist professionally complete the look. I am so sick of my current hair, and feel like I've always had long blonde hair. Except for that one time I cut it all off and got addicted to haircuts. It kept getting shorter, and shorter, and shorter.

Anyway, I am really looking to change things up, although I'm scared out of my mind. Any thoughts on this? Is ombre still in style? I see it everywhere but don't really know how it'd look on me. My stylist thinks I would hate it because I do hate when I have roots showing. I think some of these are kind of close to how it looks now, so maybe this wouldn't be a big enough change. See, I told you this would get deep, haha!

Love this last photo. I will certainly post pictures of the final look on the blog. Not sure when I'm doing this either, but feel like Fall is the perfect time.

On another note, I'm in California on vacation right now and can't wait to share all my pictures. Yesterday I had my first In-N-Out Burger experience and I'm probably going to eat there at least one more time this trip. We also hit the outlet stores in the desert on our way here and the stores and deals were amazing!! Here's a pic of what I wore to explore Palm Springs last night. Full posts next week.

EDIT: I originally wrote this post while on vacation in California, and published it from my phone last Friday morning (September 18, 2015) while in Palm Springs. I had never used the blogger app on my phone before, and when I hit "publish" it wasn't published at the top of my blog with the correct date, it got buried. Buried deep. Anyway, I just wanted to repost it in case anyone wants to give me some feedback on the ombre hair. :)

FINALLY FALL(ISH)

Shirt, Old - Similar here and here // Flares, LOVE the lighter wash // Similar Hat // Scarf // Fringe Crossbody Bag

So I finally gave in and went all Fall. The weather has been so amazing around here and I'll take it! I feel like in KANSAS the fall season is about one week long, but it seems to have started early this year and I'm not upset about that at all. It's about 6:00 a.m. and I'm sitting on my back patio, drinking my chocolate coffee, (no PSL's for me - they're gross!) Lucy is into the tomatoes, and it is so peaceful. I love being able to sit out here in nice weather for a change instead of hiding in the air conditioning.

I've been dying to wear this new scarf I purchased at Loft a few weeks back when J's mom was in town. It was half price at the time, which I was really excited about. You know I love a good deal ~ who doesn't!?  A good deal to me is when you buy something in season or for the upcoming season and it's price is reduced for a day or so, but not a clearance type sale where you'll have to wait until next year to wear it and then your late on the style ;)  The hat I'm wearing is from Target and I couldn't find it so I linked some others. I believe I purchased it at the beginning of the summer, so you may be able to find it at your local Target if you're lucky.

And no, I'm not wearing THAT MAGIC TUNIC. I thought about it though ;) This shirt I bought forever ago at TJ Maxx and I don't know the brand, but it's  my favorite white shirt. It's a crisp white button-down and I love the button details on the back. It's got a crinkly texture so I don't need to worry about ironing - it's supposed to be a little crinkled ;) Gotta love that! Anyway, I have a feeling this will be my second fall uniform. Everybody knows the "go to" fall outfit is skinnies, booties, and layers on top. ;)

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend! J and I are only going into the office for a few hours this morning and then heading to Ogallala, which I've previously posted on here. I am pretty excited about a relaxing (almost) four-day weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!!
