MAKING A STATEMENT

Who's ready for Christmas!? I am! I absolutely love the holidays and all things sparkly and shiny. I love having an excuse to dress up and wear sequins or a red lip and really stand out. This holiday season has been slightly different though. It is so much more difficult to find outfits that are flattering on me, (my bump) that look respectable and aren't too overdone. I've found that the best way to still dress up my look is to wear whatever fits, (ha!) and use statement jewelry to do the dressing up.

I purchased this gorgeous necklace online from the Happiness Boutique and am in love. I love how it's kind of vintage but modern as well. Super cute!! Happiness Boutique offers free shipping (I know, right?!) and they not only have statement jewelry but great daintier (is this a word?) pieces as well. You can't beat the prices and they also have a reward program and a giveaway twice per month. I love finding cute little shops like this that don't break the bank! 

My bump! It's getting bigger every day. EEK! I wore this to Christmas dinner with J (we always celebrate our own little Christmas ;) and it was catching the light all night long. Love sparkles!

 I got this dress around my birthday last year so it's been almost a year! I love how it made my bump look though. It was really simple, and like I said, I think that's the best way to wear statement jewelry. I don't like too much going on at once. Pink Leather Jacket

Port Fonda just opened up in my city (there is one in Westport - KC, MO) and we had friends in town so we decided to try it out. I didn't get to try any of the AMAZING looking drinks, however the chicken chimichanga with chipotle cream sauce was a pregnant woman's dream..... Will definitely be going back...a lot!

And of course I have to put up a pic of Lucy. She is so sweet, she wouldn't move to let me make the bed so I had to make it around her :)

These are just a few of the looks I've worn lately and random pictures I've had sitting on my camera roll. As my belly gets bigger finding clothes that not only fit, but look good too has been quite the challenge. I'm a work in progress for sure.

BLACK PLAID

I gravitate toward black clothing and although there are so many great colored plaids out there, (like in this post) I couldn't pass up this black plaid. This top is really long so it can be worn with leggings, and it comes in 8 different color options. If there is one trend you should go for this fall, it's plaid because it's such a classic print that you can wear it year after year without going out of style.

These black skinnies are another piece of black out of my closet where I'm definitely getting my money's worth. They are a really soft denim and super comfy, although I think they're getting a little snug already ;)

Boring Outfit Upgrade

Good Morning!! Who's ready for the weekend!? FRI-YAY!! 

I am obsessed with this necklace and since it goes with pretty much everything it's been a go to for me lately. I love love love the colors and the marble style on the studs.

EEK!!! My heels sunk into the ground and the final photo is not an accurate representation of how my backside really looks! At least not in my head anyway. #getmetothegymstat I still love the dress, even if nobody told me how big my you know what looks. ;)

This dress has been on repeat this summer. I was looking for the link and can't find it now, but after look at the vince camuto dresses on Nordstrom.com, there are SO MANY cute ones! I love the fabric on this because it's stretchy and super comfortable. 

This is my favorite necklace right now. I got it on a sale a few weeks ago from J. Crew Factory and have been living in it since. It goes with pretty much everything, which makes it easy to throw on and go. This navy dress needed a little spicing up, and this piece was perfect.
