FINALLY FALL(ISH)

Shirt, Old - Similar here and here // Flares, LOVE the lighter wash // Similar Hat // Scarf // Fringe Crossbody Bag

So I finally gave in and went all Fall. The weather has been so amazing around here and I'll take it! I feel like in KANSAS the fall season is about one week long, but it seems to have started early this year and I'm not upset about that at all. It's about 6:00 a.m. and I'm sitting on my back patio, drinking my chocolate coffee, (no PSL's for me - they're gross!) Lucy is into the tomatoes, and it is so peaceful. I love being able to sit out here in nice weather for a change instead of hiding in the air conditioning.

I've been dying to wear this new scarf I purchased at Loft a few weeks back when J's mom was in town. It was half price at the time, which I was really excited about. You know I love a good deal ~ who doesn't!?  A good deal to me is when you buy something in season or for the upcoming season and it's price is reduced for a day or so, but not a clearance type sale where you'll have to wait until next year to wear it and then your late on the style ;)  The hat I'm wearing is from Target and I couldn't find it so I linked some others. I believe I purchased it at the beginning of the summer, so you may be able to find it at your local Target if you're lucky.

And no, I'm not wearing THAT MAGIC TUNIC. I thought about it though ;) This shirt I bought forever ago at TJ Maxx and I don't know the brand, but it's  my favorite white shirt. It's a crisp white button-down and I love the button details on the back. It's got a crinkly texture so I don't need to worry about ironing - it's supposed to be a little crinkled ;) Gotta love that! Anyway, I have a feeling this will be my second fall uniform. Everybody knows the "go to" fall outfit is skinnies, booties, and layers on top. ;)

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend! J and I are only going into the office for a few hours this morning and then heading to Ogallala, which I've previously posted on here. I am pretty excited about a relaxing (almost) four-day weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!!

SEVENTIES INSPO

I was so excited when I picked up these flares for fall, and I've already worn them so much. I love seeing so many 70's inspired pieces in stores and online right now. I'm not into costume dressing, meaning you won't find me dressed from head to toe in 70's gear. However, I will incorporate one or two pieces into my look so I'm sporting the trend without it looking like a Halloween costume.

ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR // FIVE // SIX // SEVEN // EIGHT // NINE // TEN // ELEVEN // TWELVE // THIRTEEN // FOURTEEN // FIFTEEN // SIXTEEN // SEVENTEEN

The 70's are one of my favorite time periods as far as style is concerned. I love the flares, tunics, floppy hats, chunky jewelry, pussybow blouses, and huge prints. Think Winnie Cooper from "The Wonder Years" and Kate Hudson in "Almost Famous." Above are several (seventeen to be exact) pieces that I'm eyeing right now - especially one, two, three, nine, thirteen and fifteen. Have a great Wednesday!

Peace,

Sarah

SUN BABY

This is what I wore to dinner downtown with my hubs last night. I'm trying to get all the use out of my summer items that won't transition well and that I won't be able to wear in a few weeks. Once September hits, I'm going all Fall!! I'm really trying to resist breaking out ALL my Fall stuff now because I don't want to be sick of boots and scarves by December ;)

I am in LOVE with this hat. I have had such a thing for hats lately, but I'm a beginner and somewhat afraid to invest a lot of dough. SO, I did what any girl would do ~ I purchased several from Target. This one is a pretty wide brim, and commands a lot of attention. I usually only wear something this wide if I'm laying on a beach or at the pool, but I love the boho look it gave this outfit and can't.wait to wear it again.

Now, onto my bag. I purchased this Michael Kors straw tote at TJ Maxx a year or two ago and still use it as my pool bag.  I think it "goes" really well with the hat. Things that "go together" = yes. Things that "match" or are "matching," or "matchy" = no. Unless it's a cute little top and skirt set or something, but matching accessories = no. Not my style.

Have a really great weekend and thanks for stopping by!!

FLARED EVERYTHING

My husband would call this style, "Gypsy Sarah." :) I Absolutely love this outfit. It's still super hot here where I live, but I'm dying to wear these flares with a sweater or THIS jacket. This off the shoulder top was perfect for this time of year because it's still so hot out, but has a very fall-ish look. Yes, that's a word.

So these are the first pictures on my big girl camera! It was a little too dark outside to shoot, but overall they're much better pictures than what I was getting on my iPhone ;) I'm really excited for the new camera. Disclosure: This is actually our second photo shoot with the new camera. We did a shoot on Saturday night when I was dressed in evening-wear for a charity gala. Well, it was the photographer's first time w/ the camera and there were no pictures of the outfit when it was all said and done. ;) Whoops!

Thanks for stopping by!!
