MAKING A STATEMENT

Who's ready for Christmas!? I am! I absolutely love the holidays and all things sparkly and shiny. I love having an excuse to dress up and wear sequins or a red lip and really stand out. This holiday season has been slightly different though. It is so much more difficult to find outfits that are flattering on me, (my bump) that look respectable and aren't too overdone. I've found that the best way to still dress up my look is to wear whatever fits, (ha!) and use statement jewelry to do the dressing up.

I purchased this gorgeous necklace online from the Happiness Boutique and am in love. I love how it's kind of vintage but modern as well. Super cute!! Happiness Boutique offers free shipping (I know, right?!) and they not only have statement jewelry but great daintier (is this a word?) pieces as well. You can't beat the prices and they also have a reward program and a giveaway twice per month. I love finding cute little shops like this that don't break the bank! 

My bump! It's getting bigger every day. EEK! I wore this to Christmas dinner with J (we always celebrate our own little Christmas ;) and it was catching the light all night long. Love sparkles!

 I got this dress around my birthday last year so it's been almost a year! I love how it made my bump look though. It was really simple, and like I said, I think that's the best way to wear statement jewelry. I don't like too much going on at once. Pink Leather Jacket

Port Fonda just opened up in my city (there is one in Westport - KC, MO) and we had friends in town so we decided to try it out. I didn't get to try any of the AMAZING looking drinks, however the chicken chimichanga with chipotle cream sauce was a pregnant woman's dream..... Will definitely be going back...a lot!

BLACK PLAID

I gravitate toward black clothing and although there are so many great colored plaids out there, (like in this post) I couldn't pass up this black plaid. This top is really long so it can be worn with leggings, and it comes in 8 different color options. If there is one trend you should go for this fall, it's plaid because it's such a classic print that you can wear it year after year without going out of style.

These black skinnies are another piece of black out of my closet where I'm definitely getting my money's worth. They are a really soft denim and super comfy, although I think they're getting a little snug already ;)

EASY PEASY EVERYDAY

This outfit isn't groundbreaking, and it's pretty boring in fact, but I LOVE it. This is pretty much what I wear on the daily when I don't have any client meetings or I'm just working in the office. Ripped skinnies or boyfriend jeans and a magic tunic.  My "uniform," if you will. :)

The weather has been really strange lately and this week it is finally getting chilly enough to dress for Fall. Some days it just isn't cold enough to justify boots, so these shoes have been perfect for the transition from sandals to boots. Also, I had been looking for a pair of super dark sunglasses and I'm over the moon with this pair. They completely black out my eyes and I call that a total win!! I'm not huge on sunglasses ~ I don't collect them like I do shoes, and clothes, but these are certainly keepers!

COGNAC TAKEOVER

 I am obsessed with this cognac color right now and luckily the only pair of OTK's I own are cognac and match the tote I've been carrying everywhere lately. I did a post a here on all the 70's inspired pieces I've seen and today I came across these boots that are so disco - I don't like the platform though, just thought they were interesting. If/when I get another pair of OTK's this season I want a gray pair, specifically these. They are so so gorgeous and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on them soon.

Okay, so lets talk about this shirt really quick. I purchased it from Goodnight Macaroon and for some reason (what was I thinking) I ordered a small. Normally I am a small, but apparently I forgot I was ordering from GM, which I feel runs small sometimes. I actually ordered the matching skirt too, but it was way too short. Cute, but certainly not the look I was going for. I have a really long torso and short legs, so I need to remember to size up so shirts cover my belly ;) This sweater is probably a little more up my alley, although I do love the button detail on the back of the one I'm wearing.

DEEP THOUGHTS ON OMBRE HAIR

Just kidding, no deep thoughts here ;) So this is something a little different for my blogitty that I don't usually do, but I can't decide what to do w/ my hair and need some help. These are some screenshots from my phone ~ sorry for not linking the pics!! I just googled ombre hair and looked for really blonde and light ombre looks. Although I have sort of a natural ombre going on right now,  (on accident) I'm thinking about going in and having my stylist professionally complete the look. I am so sick of my current hair, and feel like I've always had long blonde hair. Except for that one time I cut it all off and got addicted to haircuts. It kept getting shorter, and shorter, and shorter.  

Anyway, I am really looking to change things up, although I'm scared out of my mind. Any thoughts on this? Is ombre still in style? I see it everywhere but don't really know how it'd look on me. My stylist thinks I would hate it because I do hate when I have roots showing. I think some of these are kind of close to how it looks now, so maybe this wouldn't be a big enough change. See, I told you this would get deep, haha! 

Love this last photo. I will certainly post pictures of the final look on the blog. Not sure when I'm doing this either, but feel like Fall is the perfect time. 

On another note, I'm in California on vacation right now and can't wait to share all my pictures. Yesterday I had my first In-N-Out Burger experience and I'm probably going to eat there at least one more time this trip. We also hit the outlet stores in the desert on our way here and the stores and deals were amazing!! Here's a pic of what I wore to explore Palm Springs last night. Full posts next week. 

EDIT: I originally wrote this post while on vacation in California, and published it from my phone last Friday morning (September 18, 2015) while in Palm Springs. I had never used the blogger app on my phone before, and when I hit "publish" it wasn't published at the top of my blog with the correct date, it got buried. Buried deep. Anyway, I just wanted to repost it in case anyone wants to give me some feedback on the ombre hair. :)

Denim x Denim

I purchased this denim shirt from the Nordstrom clearance sale for $23 bucks and I am in love! I believe they are sold out of this color, but have two others. I've had my eye on it all summer, (it was originally $68) but I couldn't wrap my head around buying a denim shirt in the middle of the summer. I'm so glad it was marked down because with Fall here and a $23 price tag...it was a no brainer.

Yes, I am wearing these flare jeans again. But I love them. A lot. :) Once it isn't warm enough to wear open toe wedges anymore, I'll probably have to get them hemmed a little bit because they're so long and I think these wedges are my tallest heel. By the way...stay tuned to see a pair of different pants on the blog. ;) I promise these aren't my only pair of pants.

I have been wearing these earrings non-stop lately and I think they're so cute and a great alternative to a simple stud. I'm not wearing the exact pair that I linked because I can't find my actual pair, but the linked ones are similar. I love this pair as well. Finally, I am obsessed with this cognac tote I'm wearing. I've been wearing it every day since it's big enough to be my work tote.

I have been really sick the last couple of weeks and it has really knocked me on my butt. I'm hoping that means I'm going to be healthy the rest of the year since I caught the crud so early. We'll shall see.
